A Luxe Guide to St. Barths

Eden Rock, St Barths

Here’s Jack’s top picks in Saint Barthélemy.

Where to stay

Eden Rock St. Barths

Eden Rock pours their great brand identity into every increment of your stay. You can either stay in the hotel and indulge at the beach and/or bar, or stay in a spacious villa and find the luxe, reserved, and secure hotel as your home base. I personally enjoy the villas the most because of the beautiful design, views, and drives you can experience.

Why book with JSL? Jack knows and has stayed at a multitude of villas from the resort. He can give you his favorites, plus new options. Also, apart of a Pearl Partner agency, Jack can get you perks like daily breakfast for 2, priority access to the resort vans/cars, priority reservation placements/upgrades, a $100 credit to f&b or spa, and VIP status added to your reservation. All at no cost to you.

Le Barthélemy

Le Barthélemy Hotel in St. Barths defines beachfront luxury with its seamless blend of coastal chic and impeccable service. This retreat promises a refined escape amid tropical splendor, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a room ON the beach. It is more of a trek to Gustavia, but it’s amenities make you never want to leave anyways.

Why book with JSL? Jack knows the island inside out and loves to help with connecting you to restaurants and shopping you’ll love, so that you don’t have to wonder. Also, apart of a Virtuoso agency, Jack can get you perks like daily breakfast for 2, upgrade upon availabilty, a $100 resort credit, early-checkin or late-checkout based on availability, and VIP status added to your reservation. All at no cost to you.

Cheval Blanc St-Barth

Perched on the powdery sands of Flamands Beach, Cheval Blanc St-Barth is where Parisian chic meets island bliss. With 61 dreamy rooms, suites, and villas, every corner oozes effortless elegance and that unmistakable French flair. Whether you’re savoring the Caribbean flavors at La Case by Jean Imbert or melting into relaxation at the heavenly Guerlain spa, you’ll feel super spoiled. Add in their Ambassadeurs who cater to your every whim, and this isn’t just a stay—it’s a love letter to luxury.

Where to eat

Favorite lunch: Shellona

This beachside casual/rich restaurant hits the spot. Splayed ahead of your table is the beaming blue ocean and on your table is a buttermilk chicken sandwich and a cocktail. Doesn’t get better than this. You have access to splash around on the beach and return to your shaded and cushioned table, but chair rentals are a touch hefty. A MUST for St. Barths. Walkable from Gustavia, too!

Essential Dinner: Bonito

Set up high above Gustavia on a white wooden deck, enjoy the feeling, views, and food of Bonito. Armed with friendly staff and tasty fish, Bonito insures you and your party are content and joyous the entire duration of your dinner.

Lush Tropics: Le Tamarin

With it’s unique draw of sitting among lush botanics and sleek tables, Le Tamarin is just so perfect for a family or couple. With a more muted vibe than other restaurants, Le Tamarin is a perfect setting for interesting conversation and admiration of the island’s beauty.

Duh: Bagatelle

Bagatelle is so prominent I couldn’t get away with not mentioning it. Like at every euro-luxe destination, Bagatelle offers guests incroyable French food at a festive vibe. Laid back and scrumptious, be sure to fit it in.

Where to shop

While every shop in Gustavia is set to a high standard: here are my favorites!

  • Pati Gustavia

  • Orlebar Brown

  • Pasha St Barths

  • MC2

  • Martini-Rossi bar (for a quick sip)

  • Lolita Jaca
